I photograph a wedding the same way I photograph everyday life: quietly, intuitively, and without interference. I don’t pose couples or gather people into groups. Nothing is staged. Instead, I move through the day as an observer, letting moments unfold naturally.

My approach is documentary. I follow the rhythm of the day as it really happens—the nervous hands before the ceremony, a fleeting glance between partners, the way a child hides behind a chair, laughter that erupts unexpectedly, the intimate silences no one else notices. These are the scenes that reveal the truth of the day, the emotions beneath the surface.

I work exclusively in black and white, because it distills the moment to its essence. Without the distraction of color, the focus shifts to gesture, light, and the authenticity of emotion. The images become timeless, honest, and unpolished in the best possible way.

What I create is not a series of perfect pictures, but a story. A sincere, evocative visual memory of how the wedding felt, rather than how it was arranged. A collection of photographs that preserves the raw beauty, the spontaneity, and the quiet poetry of the day—so that the couple can return to what was real, long after the moment has passed.

My portraits grow out of the quiet of the moment. No strict poses or fixed instructions, but a meeting. Whether we work in my small studio or in the familiar space of your home, I photograph the way I always do: calmly, intuitively, and without directing.

I look at how you sit, how you breathe, at the small gestures that appear naturally when you don’t have to think. In the studio, the light is soft and simple, creating room for authenticity. At your home, I work with what is already there — a window, a chair, a shadow — letting the space become part of the image.

Everything is photographed in black and white. It strips away distraction and brings you back to the essence: shape, light, texture, emotion. The photographs become timeless, honest, and close.

A portrait in my style is not a perfect picture, but a glimpse of who you are in that moment.

Ik fotografeer een bruiloft op dezelfde manier als ik het dagelijks leven vastleg: rustig, intuïtief en zonder in te grijpen. Ik poseer geen koppels en verzamel niemand voor groepsfoto’s. Niets wordt in scène gezet. In plaats daarvan beweeg ik me als een observator door de dag heen, terwijl de momenten zich vanzelf mogen ontvouwen.

Mijn benadering is documentair. Ik volg het ritme van de dag zoals het echt is—de nerveuze handen voor de ceremonie, een vluchtige blik tussen partners, het kind dat zich achter een stoel verstopt, de lach die onverwacht losbarst, de stille momenten die niemand anders opmerkt. Dit zijn de scènes die de waarheid van de dag tonen, de emoties onder de oppervlakte.

Ik werk uitsluitend in zwart-wit, omdat het het moment terugbrengt tot de essentie. Zonder de afleiding van kleur verschuift de aandacht naar gebaar, licht en de authenticiteit van emotie. De beelden worden tijdloos, eerlijk en ongepolijst op de best mogelijke manier.

Wat ik maak is geen reeks perfecte plaatjes, maar een verhaal. Een oprechte, evocatieve, visuele herinnering aan hoe de bruiloft voelde, in plaats van hoe hij gearrangeerd was. Een verzameling foto’s die de rauwe schoonheid, de spontaniteit en de stille poëzie van de dag bewaart—zodat het koppel altijd kan terugkeren naar wat echt was, lang nadat het moment voorbij is.

Mijn portretten ontstaan in de stilte van het moment. Geen strakke poses of vaste houdingen, maar een ontmoeting. Of we nu in mijn kleine studio werken of in de vertrouwde omgeving van jouw huis, ik fotografeer zoals ik altijd doe: rustig, intuïtief en zonder te sturen.

Ik kijk naar hoe je zit, hoe je ademt, naar de kleine gebaren die vanzelf komen wanneer je niet hoeft na te denken. In de studio is het licht zacht en eenvoudig, zodat er ruimte ontstaat voor echtheid. Bij jou thuis werk ik met wat er is — een raam, een stoel, een schaduw — en laat ik de plek meepraten in het beeld.

Alles gebeurt in zwart-wit. Het haalt ruis weg en brengt je terug tot de kern: vorm, licht, textuur, emotie. De foto’s worden tijdloos, eerlijk en dichtbij.

Een portret in mijn stijl is geen perfecte foto, maar een stukje van wie je bent op dat moment.

Als je foto’s wilt laten printen, kan ik dat voor je doen. Ik stuur je eerst proefprints van je beelden op drie verschillende papiersoorten, zodat je zelf kunt zien en voelen wat papier met een foto doet.
